Tegucigalpa, Honduras.- Esta mañana de miércoles José Nolasco, coordinador Nacional de la Asociación Latina de Pacientes Renales, denunció que los afectados solo están recibiendo cuatro de los 15 medicamentos que requieren para sobrevivir.
En una entrevista radial, catalogó la situación como una “cruda realidad”, debido a que no tener disponibilidad de medicamentos representa tasa de letalidad de varios pacientes renales.
Según sus declaraciones, cada que falta un medicamento, un ciudadano tiene un gasto de unos 20 mil lempiras para poder suplir por su cuenta los medicamentos.
Nolasco reiteró que el flagelo no es nuevo y que cada año “se repite lo mismo”, por lo que, lamentó la falta de voluntad política.
En lo que va de 2024, han fallecido 20 pacientes renales quienes no contaron con el cuadro de medicamentos básicos para sobrellevar la enfermedad, de acuerdo a Nolasco.
